Interdisciplinary Program in Law and Religion: The Interdisciplinary Program in Law and Religion was created to provide a forum for study, research and public discussion of issues arising at the nexus of law and religion. These include questions of the separation of Church and state, public and private morality, and the relationship of concerns of the institutional Church to establish legal norms.

Although it does not constitute an academic concentration as such, faculty members involved in the Law and Religion program offer a number of courses that permit students to examine the subject matter in a considerable depth. These courses include: Source of Christian Jurisprudence, Law of Church/State Relations, First Amendment Seminar: Religious Liberty, Contemporary Social Issues Under Jewish Law, Canon Law for American Attorneys, Catholic Social Teaching and the Law, and the Catholic Natural Law Tradition. Students also have the option of creating a specialized interdisciplinary program in conjunction with other university departments, such as theology, nursing, philosophy or the National Catholic School of Social Science.
