Admissions Photo

The Columbus School of Law seeks the widest possible diversity in its student body and solicits applicants from all parts of the country and from all professional, religious and racial/ethnic backgrounds. Our goal is to matriculate students who will excel academically and contribute to the ethical advancement of the legal profession. Entering classes typically are composed of approximately 300 students, selected from roughly 3,500 applications per year.

Admissions decisions are determined primarily on the basis of the applicant's undergraduate GPA and performance on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).  In addition, applicants may be judged on the basis of special leadership qualities, performance in particular courses, evidence of improving performance, relevant work experience, evidence of strong motivation, potential for contributing to the diversity of the law school, performance in graduate school, strong letters of recommendation from those who have a basis for judging the applicant's ability to succeed in law school, and the academic standards of the student's undergraduate school.

Tours and Class Visits

We encourage you to invest in a visit to the law school.  Led by current students, our 30-45 minute tours will enable you to view select classrooms, our library, the student café, the Slowinski Courtroom, and the hub of student activity, our three-story atrium.   Additionally, throughout most of the academic year, we may arrange a class visit so that you can witness the dialogue inside our classrooms.

Through November 30, tours will be available at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  The University will be closed on Thursday, November 22 (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, November 23.  Our Fall Semester visits will conclude on Friday, November 30.

Our Spring Semester begins on January 7, 2008.  With the exceptions of our week-long Spring Break (March 3 to March 9) and our recognition of the Easter holiday (March 20 to March 24), we will continue to offer daily tours of the law school as well as opportunities to sit in on a class.

We will not be offering class visits after April 18, 2008, out of courtesy to our faculty and students. Tours will continue to be offered at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm until May 12, 2008. During the summer, tours will be offered at 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Please reach out to us at the contact information listed below to arrange for your tour date and time.  In order to best assist you, please provide us with at least 24 hours notice to schedule your visit.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus!
