Monday, May 19
Caps and gowns will be distributed in the interview rooms from 12 noon until 7 p.m. (1st of 2 distribution dates.)

Thursday, May 22
Institute Graduates
A certificate presentation ceremony for students in the Communications Law Institute, the Comparative and International Law Institute, the Law and Public Policy Program and the Securities Law Program will be held in the Byron Auditorium at 3 p.m. A reception will follow the ceremony. For further information and reservations, please call the Office of Institutes and Special Programs (319-6205).

Class of 2008 Celebration
The Graduation Committee is sponsoring “Celebration 2008” for parents, family and friends on Thursday evening at the Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. (adjacent to the Federal Triangle Metro stop on the Orange and Blue Lines). You will need a valid, government issued photo ID to enter the building.

Ticket costs are as follows: $10 adult ticket; $5 for children 6-12 years; free for children under 6. Tickets and “Class of 2008” tee shirts will be sold at the champagne toast, in the student lounge and in the Office of Student Life and Special Events through Tuesday, May 20. The tee shirts are $15 (includes tax) and the proceeds will subsidize the Thursday evening event.

Friday, May 23
Mass

A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated for the graduates at 10 a.m. in the Crypt Church (Lower Level) of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. All graduates are invited to attend with family and friends. You are welcome to invite as many guests as you wish to the Mass. Academic apparel should not be worn to the Mass, and graduates should sit with their families.

Please contact the Office of Student Life and Special Events no later than May 12 if you have a relative who is a Roman Catholic priest who would like to concelebrate the Mass.

Coffee following Mass
There will be an informal “Coffee” for graduates and their guests on the law school quadrangle following the Mass, and the Journals and Moot Court offices will have “Open Houses” at the same time.

CCLS will hold a reception in the Clinic to recognize all Class of 2008 graduates who were previously enrolled in the Advocacy for the Elderly Clinic, the General Practice Clinic, or the Families and the Law Clinic. The reception will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All CCLS class of 2008 graduates and their guests are invited. Students should RSVP to CCLS, with their names and the number of guests, at 319-6788.

Friday Distribution of Caps and Gowns
Caps and gowns will be distributed in the interview rooms from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. (Note: following the ceremony, academic apparel should be returned to this location no later than 5 p.m.)
