THE FEDERALIST
SOCIETY: The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies
is a nationally organized group of conservative and libertarian law students,
attorneys, professors, judges, and policy makers. Founded in 1982 at the
University of Chicago School of Law with United States Supreme Court Justice
Antonin Scalia as a founding member, the Federalist Society is committed
to the principles of individual liberty, limited government, and judicial
restraint. The goals of our chapter are to promote awareness and application
of these principles within the law school community and to foster intellectual
debate. The Federalist Society offers its members opportunities to meet
officials from the three branches of government, as well as provides a
forum for open political debate.
