A former law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Oct. 2001 term) Heather Elliott joined the full time faculty of the Columbus School of Law in August, 2005. She comes to Catholic University by way of Washington, D.C.-based Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, LLP, where she was an associate in the appellate litigation and government litigation and strategy groups. In 2002-2003, Professor Elliott was a Hugo Black Faculty Fellow at the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, where she taught civil procedure, water law and federal jurisdiction. From 2000-2001, Professor Elliott served as a law clerk to Hon. Merrick B. Garland, United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Professor Elliott earned her J.D. from the University of California School of Law (Boalt Hall), with an Environmental Law certificate. She also holds an M.A. and M. Phil. in political science from Yale University and a B.A. from Duke University.
